The Granola Initiative

I thought I might give an update on my own personal granola initiative.

Asher is still in cloth diapers. And we're still loving it. I think we buy fewer disposables than ever before...pretty much just for when we're out of town. Still making his food, which is getting easier as he's taking more and more table food. Can't wait until he's eating all of our meals. He still gets Vitamin D and probiotics in the milk, which is raw whole milk, in his sippy cup.

We're greatly enjoying the produce we receive from our CSA each week. On top of that, we've been going to the farmer's market more regularly to supplement the CSA.

I bought a big bag of soap nuts when they were half off, and I'm still using them for all of our laundry, except Asher's diapers, for which I use Green Mountain, another natural detergent. Also, I'm using solely Seventh Generation dish soap for our dishes. And we use Tom's of Maine's brand for deodorant.

I have not pursued becoming vegetarian. I think I may someday. But it's a few years off, I'm pretty sure.

A few things I still want to change. I'd like to move over 100% to natural home cleaners. I'd also like to use Tom's of Maine toothpaste and Dr. Bronner's soap for bathing. But darn it, the sales on run of the mill toothpastes and soaps are too good for me to pass up!
