Morning Commute

Normally, I feel very bitter about my commute to work. And I don’t much like setting my clock ahead an hour, as cute as they try to make it sound. . .Spring Forward! Yay! More light at night! Blech.

But this morning on my drive to work, when the sun was rising over the hills, I was so thankful to be able to witness the beauty in God’s creation at that moment. . .even though it was 7:15 AM (6:15 AM to my Daylight Savings Time hating body) and I normally would have preferred to be sleeping. I put on a little Shane (Barnard) and Shane (Everett) – Psalm 118 (This is the Day) - and enjoyed my moments with God before the craziness of the day set in.

As I reflect on my drive this morning, I think I might finally be getting that it’s really about perspective.
