Evan Almighty

Michael and I watched Evan Almighty on Friday night. And again this afternoon. It really touched me in a very unexpected way. Yes, it is fairly cheesy, and not as funny as Bruce Almighty. But catch these conversations from the movie:

God (Morgan Freeman): Let me ask you something. If someone prays for patience, do you think God gives them patience, or does he give them the opportunity to be patient? If he prays for courage, does God give him courage, or does He give him opportunities to be courageous? If someone prayed for their family to be closer, do you think God zaps them with warm, fuzzy feelings, or does He give them opportunities to love each other?

And another:

Reporter: What makes you so sure God chose you?

Evan: He chose all of us.

Two thumbs up from me.

Oh my goodness! I finally watched Evan Almighty the other night, by myself, because Josh watched on the plain ride to India. Anyway, I LOVED it! I think I even thanked God for it in my prayers, the part about when you ask God for something and he doesn't just give that thing to you, he gives you the "opportunity" to recieve that thing you asked for (like patience). And I keep thinking about. Josh thinks I'm silly, but aha, I read your blog and I am not the only one who was influenced by the movie. Okay, I'm pretty random, I was looking for a reason to comment. Hope you guys are doing great!
Julie :)
